Record the steps I take when configuring OPNsense. Make sure I record how to access, and the current settings, for the modem and Orbi network (in the almost certain event I have to revert to the old settings while I figure out my mistakes) Read (and try to understand) u/homenetworkguy "Set Up a Fully Functioning Home Network Using OPNsense" (in process) Make sure the house is empty for a few days (no one to complain) What steps am I missing below - and please point me to any "installing for dummies": I just purchased a Protectli FW6Br2 with OPNsense and coreboot installed. My current setup - my Netgear modem and my WiFi AP is an Orbi WiFi 6 mesh network (Orbi 850 models). Cutting to the chase - how best to prepare to avoid, or plan for, when I mess something up? Apologies in advance for my sub-rookie-newbie questions. I've read as many of the other "newbie" posts I can and feel there should be a lower rung given the expertise evident in many of those posts.
